Quick Fixes: Try These First

FX Replay Help CenterUpdated October 12, 2026

FX Replay freezing, lagging, not loading or your session won't play? Try these quick fixes first, with steps for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.

Is FX Replay freezing, lagging, not loading, or acting strangely? Most problems are fixed by one of the quick steps below. Try them in order and check FX Replay again after each one. FX Replay works in up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The steps below use Chrome, and the table under step 6 shows where to find the same settings in other browsers. If a problem only happens in one browser, try another.

1. Refresh the page

Press Ctrl + R (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac).

Why it helps: a refresh loads the latest version of FX Replay and reconnects to our servers, which clears most small, temporary glitches.

2. Try an Incognito window

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + N (Mac).
  2. Go to app.fxreplay.com, log in and test again.

Why it helps: Incognito starts with no extensions and no saved files or cookies. If FX Replay works there, the problem is in your normal browser setup, and steps 3 and 4 will fix it.

3. Clear FX Replay's cache and cookies

  1. Open chrome://settings/content/all in Chrome.
  2. Search for fxreplay.
  3. Find app.fxreplay.com and click the trash icon (Delete data).
  4. Fully close Chrome, open it again and log back in.

Why it helps: your browser saves copies of website files and cookies so pages load faster. After an update, or if a file was saved incompletely, the browser can keep using an old or broken copy. Clearing them makes Chrome download fresh files. This only affects FX Replay, signs you out, and doesn't delete any of your sessions or trades.

4. Turn off browser extensions

  1. Open chrome://extensions/.
  2. Turn off your extensions, especially ad blockers, script or privacy blockers, performance boosters and VPN or proxy extensions.
  3. Restart Chrome and test again.

If that fixes it, turn your extensions back on one at a time to find the one causing the problem.

Why it helps: these extensions can block scripts or connections that FX Replay needs to load charts and data.

5. Turn on graphics acceleration

  1. Open chrome://settings/system.
  2. Turn on Use graphics acceleration when available (called Use hardware acceleration when available in some Chrome versions).
  3. Click Relaunch.

Why it helps: charts are drawn by your computer's graphics card. With this setting off, the main processor has to do all the work, which can make charts lag or freeze.

6. Check your connection and VPN

  1. Make sure your internet connection is stable.
  2. If you use a VPN or similar service, turn it off and test again.

Why it helps: FX Replay loads chart data over the internet while you work. A weak connection or a VPN can slow it down or stop it from arriving.

Using Edge, Firefox or Safari?

The same fixes work in other browsers. Here's where to find each setting:

Step Edge Firefox Safari (Mac)
Private window (step 2) Ctrl + Shift + N (Mac: Cmd + Shift + N) Ctrl + Shift + P (Mac: Cmd + Shift + P) Cmd + Shift + N
Clear FX Replay's data (step 3) Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies → See all cookies and site data → search fxreplay → Delete On app.fxreplay.com, click the padlock in the address bar → Clear cookies and site data Safari → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search fxreplay → Remove
Extensions (step 4) edge://extensions about:addons Safari → Settings → Extensions
Graphics acceleration (step 5) edge://settings/system → turn on graphics (hardware) acceleration → Restart Settings → General → Performance → untick Use recommended performance settings, tick Use hardware acceleration when available → restart Firefox No separate setting. Keep macOS and Safari up to date.

Session won't play, skip or show the Replay Bar

The session stops at a certain date. You've most likely reached your session's end date. Create a new session with a later end date to keep going.

Play or skip doesn't respond. Refresh the page and reopen your session. If that doesn't help, log out and back in, then skip forward one candle at a time.

The Replay Bar or chart tools are missing. Zoom your browser out (Ctrl + − on Windows, Cmd + − on Mac). At high zoom levels these controls can be pushed off the screen.
